HELICOPTERS: 2005-2006

In this period Fischer & Rechsteiner handled the import and the arrival from the United States of several helicopters and of their spare parts, taking care of all the customs operations as well as of all the procedures and authorisations involved. They are helicopters that will be used by the Civil Defence to put out fires after attaching to the helicopters themselves a big water tank. These helicopters are produced in the United States of America and imported on behalf of an Italian company and Fischer & Rechsteiner handle the seasonal arrival to Italy, during the period of the highest fires alert. They are often imported by air and to the Italian airports, sometimes using the temporary import operations, always handled by Fischer & Rechsteiner. Otherwise they arrive by sea, generally to Genoa port, from where – flying – they reach their final destination.

VILLADOSSOLA STEEL PLANT TO MEXICO – JULY 2004

Fischer & Rechsteiner Company Spa handled the global transfer of a steel plant from Villadossola (VB) in the north of Italy to San Louis Potosì in Mexico. It was a whole steel plant which was located in Villadossola and had been in function till 2003. Finally the plant, by that time not used any longer, was bought by a Mexican group who intends to re-build a similar steel plant in Mexico. Once the commercial transaction was settled, Fischer & Rechsteiner was involved to handle all the operations for the road and sea transport of the material, as well as all the documentation, the permits and the contacts with the Offices and Authorities involved. They are, obviously, very big metal pieces and parts into which the original plant was divided. Disassembled in the origin place, then the pieces had to be taken to Genoa port, here left in deposit for all the period necessary to complete the operations, then loaded on a vessel specifically affreighted on the purpose and finally transported to Mexico by sea. There they will be transported by truck to their final destination to be re-assembled to build up a new steel plant which will work there.

Because of the big dimensions of the single pieces, their transfer required about 70 special transports by truck from Villadossola to Genoa, mainly by night and under the police escort. The total entity of the transport is quite important: 1.400 tons weight, divided in: 170 units teus containers, 6.000 cbm on decks For the sea transport a vessel entirely booked has been used, BBC ECUADOR with the following characteristics: Length 121,60 mts Large 18,20 mts Multipurpose Tweendecker type, on 3 levels Cubic capacity 9.980 cbm/5.500 meter tons Equipped with two cranes each up to 120 mt combinable up to 240 mt. The ship sailed on 15/7/04 at h. 23.12

The production of this plant, when in function, is of about 1 million tons per year The several parts of the steel plant originate from different Countries: Turkey, Sweden, Spain, Italy and China.
